Urban Steel Plays 2005 New York State Fair:

On Saturday, August 27, fairgoers at the New York State Fair will be once again treated to the music and showmanship of the Urban Steel Band.  If you follow the band you might remember that they were well received at last year's fair - so much so that they have been invited back to perform at this year's fair.
The band has a new self titled CD out that features many of the songs they will be playing at the fair. The CD was produced by funds that the Band director Mary Taylor won from the Spirit Award earlier this year in March. At this years performance at the Pan African Village (5 PM ~ 7 PM) fair goers will also be treated by Urban Steels special guest Veron Henry - Master Pan Builder and Virtuoso - straight from Antigua! Veron not only has personally created most of the drums the band uses but also has composed and/or arranged many of the songs on its playlist. Veron is in town with the Partners program and just can't help but want to play. The band is sounding better than ever as Veron just hand tuned each of the bands pans - Thanks Veron!
