Rochester Yacht Club - Urban Steel:

At The Rochester Yacht Club 2005On the Saturdays of August 13 and August 20 Urban Steel was invited to Play at the Rochester Yacht Club. The first Saturday they played to a young crowd that included many children, parents, grandparents, families and participants of an annual regatta. The band played two sets for a total of two hours. During their performance many of the slightly older folks drew chairs up in front of the band and enjoyed the show.

The second Saturday was a completely different crowd - almost entirely an adult crowd and the band played for three full hours in two sets. A little into the second set it began to rain. This did not slow the band down as they were safe under a large tent. In factVeron Hernry Joins In The Fun! it drew a good crowd in with them under the tent. Veron Henry --Master Pan Builders and Virtuoso was visiting from Antigua and joined with the band for the evening and the band was - as we say - Hot, Hot Hot! Veron not only has personally created most of the drums the band uses but also has composed and/or arranged many of the songs on its playlist. Listeners were treated to a feast of solos and amazing performances by all, as Urban Steel took the whole night up a level or three with one of the masters in the house. The audience kept calling for more and pushed the band for several extra songs.

The Commodore of the RYC told us with conviction "This is definitely not the last we'll hear of this band here." You might say - we blew him away!
